In each question below, a phrase or group of words is given, below which some alternatives are given. One of these is the most appropriate word, i.e., it best conveys the meaning of the phrase/group of words. Find out the most appropriate word in each case.

A conservative is one disposed to preserve existing conditions, institutions, etc. So, he is considered as opposed to great, sudden change. A revolutionary, in contrast, favours radical change.
